Kova review
The first month and longer terms have different prices
Kova lists a $249 first month followed by $299 monthly. Its three-, six- and twelve-month plans display $179, $149 and $129 monthly, with upfront totals of $537, $894 and $1,548. It also offers monthly payment options, whose underlying term still matters. Ask which structure is being purchased, the full obligation and what happens if it ends early. A long-term monthly installment should not be assumed to have the same cancellation economics as a stand-alone one-month purchase.
Medication and the app are included, labs are separate
The program description includes clinician review, prescribed medication, delivery, ongoing care and access to Kova’s companion app. The app offers reminders, symptom and protein tracking and educational material. The FAQ says laboratory work is not included and is paid separately if ordered. Ask which clinical visits and tests are proposed for your circumstances. Tracking features are support tools rather than proof of better clinical outcomes, and an app should not be confused with the clinician responsible for a prescription decision.
Paying monthly on a longer agreement is different from having no continuing commitment. Read our guide to longer plan commitments. Henry review also distinguishes stopping renewal from settling the financial obligations of a longer plan.
The initial approval promise does not describe every renewal
Kova says an initial payment is not collected unless a provider approves treatment. Its terms clarify that later recurring charges may process on the scheduled date before subsequent review, refill approval or a dose change. Those are different stages. Record the renewal date and ask what happens to a payment if continued treatment is later found inappropriate. The terms distinguish provider decisions from platform access, so an existing subscription does not guarantee another prescription or a particular medication’s availability.
Monthly payment plans can lose the discounted rate
For certain installment programs, the terms permit repricing completed program months at the disclosed standard rate after voluntary early termination. They cap the adjustment and say future months are not accelerated into one immediate bill. The actual maximum and calculation must be disclosed at enrollment. Turning off automatic renewal is separately described as preventing the next term, not necessarily ending charges already due within the current term. Ask for both the cancellation calculation and the renewal-off effect before choosing a longer commitment.
Prepaid and medical cancellations follow different calculations
For prepaid multi-month plans, the terms permit repricing completed shipped months at an early-cancellation rate after a voluntary stop, with retention capped at the original payment. A later clinical determination that continued treatment is inappropriate instead uses the original per-month price for unshipped months without that rate adjustment. Before the first shipped month, specified nonapproval or inability-to-provide situations receive a full refund. Ask how a shipped month is defined for your order and request the calculation, rather than estimating unused time from a headline discount.
Cancel the plan through the actual account process
The terms say deleting the app or simply not requesting a refill does not stop charges. Cancellation goes through available platform controls or support, and financing has its own agreement that is not automatically canceled with the program. Kova names Telegra’s provider and pharmacy network, but the actual dispenser depends on the prescription and location. Confirm that assignment, laboratory costs and delivery instructions. National coverage language is qualified by state-specific service availability, and compounded medication is not FDA-approved.
