LifeMD review
A care program around branded medication
LifeMD’s weight-management menu includes Wegovy pills and injections, alongside Ozempic and medicines that do not contain semaglutide. The service provides clinician access and help checking insurance benefits. This makes it a different comparison from a medication-included compounded plan: you are buying access to ongoing care, while the prescription has its own price. Confirm the exact medicine and form before comparing an advertisement with another provider’s injection offer.
Add both parts of the bill
The weight-management page advertises care at $39 for the first month and $149 monthly thereafter, excluding GLP-1 medication. It separately lists initial self-pay medication offers from $199 for pens and $149 for Wegovy pills, subject to eligibility. The general FAQ also advertises a $75 monthly care equivalent on an annual plan. These are different commitments. Ask for the amount charged today, the next renewal, the total annual obligation if selected, and your prescribed medicine’s later cost.
What follow-up and labs include
LifeMD describes virtual clinician consultations, progress monitoring and treatment adjustments. Lab work can still require an in-person visit. The FAQ says eligible weight-management testing at Quest or Labcorp is included, with an exception for New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island, where the lab bills the patient or insurer. Ask whether your clinician requires tests, which tests are included and where they must be completed. General primary-care membership pricing should not be confused with the weight-management program fee.
Insurance support does not settle the pharmacy bill
LifeMD’s benefit check can help establish possible prescription coverage, but a low copay advertisement is conditional on approval and the insurance plan. The FAQ says branded prescriptions can often be sent to a preferred pharmacy, depending on availability. Confirm the dispensing pharmacy, your out-of-pocket quote and any prior authorization requirements before enrolling. Neither the pharmacy arrangement nor coverage for a specific medicine follows automatically from joining the care program.
Cancellation and the guarantee are separate
The terms allow membership cancellation through the patient portal or support. Services end after the paid commitment, and the program page says previously incurred membership charges are not refunded simply because insurance does not cover medication. The advertised weight-loss guarantee has a separate one-year eligibility test: it requires continuous enrollment, adherence to care recommendations, required appointments and labs, and weekly weight records. A request must arrive within thirty days of the anniversary, and program costs can be deducted. It is not a general trial-period refund.
Who should look more closely
LifeMD is worth comparing if you want branded semaglutide and help navigating coverage. Its key budgeting question is what you will pay for care even when the medicine is not covered. Before committing, get written confirmation of your state’s access, the medication quote, plan length, pharmacy and cancellation date. This review assesses published service terms; it does not establish how quickly an individual insurance request or clinical message will be resolved.
