A regional medical practice rather than a pharmacy

TOM Weight Loss describes an online medical practice operated by Texas Obesity Medicine PLLC, serving patients located in Texas and Utah. Patients start with a consultation and receive follow-up rather than buying medication without evaluation. The practice says it is not a pharmacy. That distinction matters when arranging dispensing, delivery or a refund: the clinical service and the pharmacy filling a prescription can have separate responsibilities and payment arrangements.

The bundled plan includes compounded medication

The pricing page lists a basic semaglutide membership at $199 billed monthly, including compounded medication within the plan’s stated range, clinical check-ins and support between visits. A separate premium plan has a different price and scope. Do not treat the lowest semaglutide figure as the rate for every offered protocol. Ask which membership fits the prescribed treatment and obtain a complete quote, including any testing not clearly included in that membership.

Care-only membership changes the comparison

TOM also lists a $100 monthly care-only membership, with medication billed separately by the pharmacy. This is the pathway described for branded GLP-1 medicines and an option for paying for compounded medication one fill at a time. Its pharmacy tables price a four-week supply, not necessarily a calendar month. Compare the care charge plus the specific pharmacy fill, and do not mistake a low medication-only table entry for the entire program cost.

The clinician manages the treatment choice

The FAQ says the practice can consider compounded, branded and other oral weight-management options after reviewing the patient’s health. Insurance is not required, though a patient’s plan may help with an eligible branded prescription. That is not a coverage guarantee. Ask how records are transferred, whether recent laboratory results are usable and how progress and side effects are reviewed before refills. A treatment menu does not establish that every option is suitable or available for an individual patient.

The published medication-refund policy has conditions

TOM’s medication policy describes requests within 30 days of the original order for unopened, unexpired medication in sealed packaging, with authorization and inspection required. It excludes opened or compromised items, near-expiry prescriptions and completed clinical, laboratory or administrative shipping charges. This is not an instruction to mail medication back without approval. If a separate pharmacy collected the payment, ask which policy governs that order before relying on the practice’s website refund description.

Confirm membership cancellation separately

The medication-return policy does not establish the deadline for stopping a future membership charge or refunding unused clinical-care time. Obtain those terms with the selected plan and keep the effective cancellation date. The pricing page names multiple pharmacy choices and says exact fill prices are confirmed before each order. Ask which pharmacy will dispense your prescription and how delivery is arranged. Broad price tables and a clinical review describe the offer, not independent verification of a particular fill or an assurance of treatment results.
